COSMIQ

The short version

CosmiQ Companion collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no server operated by the app. The app makes zero network requests of its own.

What the app stores, and where

• Dive logs and settings downloaded from your COSMIQ+ dive computer are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud Drive is enabled, your logbook is also stored in your own private iCloud container, managed by Apple and accessible only to you, so it survives reinstalling the app. It is never sent anywhere else.
• Names, notes and dive-site information you add to dives are stored in the same place, and nowhere else.
• Location is read only when you explicitly tap “Use Current Location” to tag a dive, and the coordinate is saved only in your logbook. The app never reads your location in the background and never transmits it.
• Bluetooth is used exclusively to communicate with your dive computer, only while the app is open.

What leaves your device

Data leaves the app only when you choose to export or share a dive (CSV or UDDF files via the iOS share sheet), or open a dive site in the Maps app. Displaying map previews uses Apple Maps, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Third parties

None. No third-party SDKs, no analytics frameworks, no ad networks. The app’s complete source code is public at github.com/pbouffaut/cosmiq-ios, so every claim on this page can be verified.
