Frequently asked
My COSMIQ+ doesn’t show up when scanning.
Wake the dive computer (press a button so the screen is on), keep it within a meter of
your iPhone, and make sure Bluetooth is enabled in iOS Settings. The device advertises
as “COSMIQ” or “Deepblu”.
Freedive alarms 3–6 are missing.
The original COSMIQ+ supports two freedive depth alarms; alarms 3–6 exist only on the
Cosmiq Gen 5. The app shows what your hardware supports.
Will my logbook survive deleting the app?
Yes, if iCloud Drive is enabled: the logbook is stored in your private iCloud container
and merges back after reinstalling. Without iCloud, the logbook lives only on the phone —
export UDDF backups if you need extra safety.
Can I move my dives to Subsurface or MacDive?
Yes — open a dive (or the whole logbook) and export UDDF. Both apps import it directly.
Is this an official Deepblu app?
No. Deepblu shut down its app and servers; CosmiQ Companion is an independent,
open-source project that keeps the hardware usable. It is not affiliated with or endorsed
by Deepblu, Inc.
Refill my tanks 🤿
CosmiQ Companion is free — no ads, no accounts, no subscriptions — and it will stay that way. But air, sadly, is not. If this app saved your logbook (or your dive computer) and you can afford it, you can help me refill my tanks: scan the code with the PayPal app, or tap it if you’re reading this on your phone, and send whatever feels right.
No pressure, no perks — the app works exactly the same either way. Every bar helps.
Dive safety
This is unofficial, experimental software. Always verify settings on the dive computer’s own screen before entering the water, and never rely on a single instrument for life-safety decisions.
